When Me Begins to Move Forward

When we lose a deeply intertwined partner, we don’t only lose the person we love. We also lose the we—the shared identity built from years of memories, routines, plans and companionship. Grief becomes not only learning to live without someone, but slowly rediscovering who we are while carrying their love forward.

When “We” Becomes “Me”

When we lose a deeply intertwined partner, we don’t only lose the person we love. We also lose the we—the shared identity built from years of memories, routines, plans and companionship. Grief becomes not only learning to live without someone, but slowly rediscovering who we are while carrying their love forward.

Why I Write About Grief

My thoughts about grief come not from expertise, but from lived experience with loss. I have learned that moving forward does not mean forgetting what was or leaving love behind. It means finding our way from we to me, accepting what cannot be changed, and gradually discovering that grief and gratitude can exist together.
